Website Redesign

THE SERVICE

Website redesign services that turn your site into your best salesperson.

If your website isn't generating leads, converting visitors, or reflecting the quality of your business, it's time for a redesign. Not a facelift. A real, strategy-driven rebuild that starts with understanding your goals and ends with a site that actually works.

K Squared is a website redesign agency for small businesses. We've redesigned sites for construction companies, medical aesthetics practices, fitness platforms, interior designers, and service businesses across Maine and the US. Every redesign starts with the same question: what does this website need to do for your business?

No templates. No page builders. Every site we build runs on our own CMS, BrightSite, and is hand-coded for performance, SEO, and conversions. You get a fast, modern website you can actually update yourself.

WHY REDESIGN

Signs it's time for a website redesign.

01

It's Not Generating Business

Your site gets visitors but they don't convert. No form submissions, no calls, no leads. The design looks fine but nothing is actually working to drive action. A conversion-focused redesign fixes the path from visitor to customer.

02

It Doesn't Reflect Who You Are

Your business has evolved, with new services, new positioning, and a higher caliber of work, but your website still looks like the company you were three years ago. A redesign closes the gap between how good you are and how good you look online.

03

It's Slow or Not Mobile-Friendly

More than half of web traffic is mobile. If your site doesn't work well on phones or takes more than 3 seconds to load, you're losing visitors before they see your content, and Google is ranking you lower for it.

04

You Can't Update It Yourself

If every text change requires a developer, your site is built on technology that's holding you back. A modern CMS should make updates effortless. Not sure whether it's time? Here's how often you should redesign your website.

OUR PROCESS

Our website redesign process.

01

Discovery & Strategy

We audit your current site, analyze your competitors, and define clear goals. What pages do you need? What keywords should you target? What's the conversion path? Every redesign starts with strategy, not a mockup.

02

Design & Development

Custom design tailored to your business, built on modern technology. We work in short cycles with regular check-ins, so you see progress early and often, and nothing gets built in a black box.

03

SEO Preservation

We protect your existing search rankings throughout the redesign. URL mapping, 301 redirects, and title tag preservation are built into the process. Here's how we redesign a website without losing SEO.

04

Launch & Optimize

We handle deployment, QA testing, and post-launch monitoring. Then we track performance and make data-driven improvements. Want the full run-through? See our website redesign checklist, step by step.

FAQ

Website redesign questions, answered.

How much does a website redesign cost?

Most small business website redesigns run $5,000–$15,000. A simple brochure-site refresh sits at the low end; a larger site with custom functionality, e-commerce, or heavy content work costs more. What moves the number is page count, how much copy and photography you need, and how custom the design is. We give you a fixed proposal before any work starts, with no hourly surprises. For the full breakdown of what drives the price, read how much a website redesign costs.

How long does a website redesign take?

Most redesigns take 6–12 weeks from kickoff to launch. A focused site of five to ten pages can move faster; a larger site, or one waiting on your content and feedback, takes longer. The single biggest factor is how quickly copy, photos, and approvals come back from your side, because the build itself is rarely the bottleneck. We work in short cycles so you always know where the project stands.

Will a redesign hurt my SEO?

It can, but it won't if it's done right. Rankings drop after a redesign when URLs change without redirects, page titles get wiped, or content that was ranking gets cut. We map every old URL to its new home, set 301 redirects, preserve title tags and metadata, and keep the content that's already earning traffic. Done properly, a redesign usually improves SEO because the new site is faster and better structured. Here's exactly how to redesign a website without losing SEO.

How often should you redesign your website?

The common answer is every two to three years, but that's a rule of thumb, not a law. The real trigger is whether your site is still doing its job: if it's slow, hard to update, doesn't reflect your current work, or has stopped generating leads, it's time, whether that's eighteen months or five years. A site that converts well and stays current can go longer. We dig into the honest version in how often you should redesign your website.

What's the website redesign process?

Ours runs in four phases: discovery and strategy (audit the current site, study competitors, set goals), design and development (custom design and a hand-coded build, in short cycles with regular check-ins), SEO preservation (URL mapping, redirects, and metadata so rankings survive the move), and launch and optimize (QA, deployment, and post-launch monitoring). For a step-by-step version you can follow along with, see our website redesign checklist.

Do you redesign on WordPress or a custom CMS?

We build on our own CMS, BrightSite, not WordPress. WordPress can work, but for most small businesses it means plugins to maintain, security updates to chase, and page builders that make sites slow. Every site we redesign is hand-coded for speed and SEO, and comes with an editor your team can actually use, with no developer needed for day-to-day changes. If you're currently on WordPress, we handle the full migration, content and rankings included.
